Brace yourselves, Alice In Chains is headed towards Auckland, New Zealand for their much-awaited concert tour.  They’re all set to unleash the dark forces of grunge and metal rock at The Trusts Arena stage on Thursday, 7th March 2019, 7:30 pm.   

Still reeling in from the release of their sixth studio album in a career spanning 29 years, and their first album release in over five years, “Rainier Fog” puts Alice in Chain back in the map.  Fans have given the album a double thumbs-up. Music critics and the press gave it glowing reviews, and proceeded by a Grammy nomination for Best Rock album, to boot.

With the fans’ excruciating wait after a five-year album release drought, “Rainier Fog” truly did not disappoint.

Kerrang! writes: “it’s prime Alice In Chains and the work of a band still managing to hit new peaks of their powers.”

(The album) “boasts undeniable energy and rhythm,” says Uproxx.  

Loudwire and Q Magazine were all praises the band for “still making music that holds up to their legacy”; and “juggling power and poignancy like masters.”, respectively.

The new album harks back to Alice in Chains’ gloomy roots with the speed of metal,  that in a way, sets them apart from other bands from the grunge movement. The album shot up the Billboard charts, hitting the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Rock, Alternative and Hard Music Charts, as well as No. 1 on the iTunes Rock Album Chart.

With their astonishing career run with over 30 million albums sold, multiplatinum certifications, multiple award nominations and citations, and a multitude of diehard fans all over the world,  Alice In Chains has gone full circle. Founder and lead guitarist Jerry Cantrell explains:

“We’ve been doing this a long time and this band exists in two different eras...To continue on and still be relevant; to operate the same way we always did before and for the same reasons, which are to make the best music and the best records we can possibly make; and to make ourselves happy, well … it’s nice.”
