Slayers Final Tour All Set In New Zealand Twisted Thread

Slayer’s Final Tour All Set In New Zealand

Slayer Live in New Zealand

Slayer announced early 2018 that they’re finally hanging up their guitars and calling it a day.  But these rock titans are not the types who would fade out quietly into the night. True to form, they’re going to slay it one last time with a tour dubbed as ‘The Final World Tour’.  They started their multi-city and global tour de force in May until the end of 2018. However, there was still so much ground to cover and still a great number of fans yearning to see them live for the last time.

As a result,  Slayer announced the extension of the tour into the year 2019.

“We’ve heard about fans who have driven five, six hours, or flown in from other cities or countries to see us, so we want to assure our fans that we’ll be on the road through 2019 and will get to as many places around the world as possible to make it easier for everyone to come and see us one last time,” says Slayer guitarist Kerry King.

With that said,  it has been recently confirmed that Slayer’s world tour shall include shows in Auckland at the Eventfinda Stadium (formerly North Shore Event Centre) on March 15, 2019, and at the Christchurch, Horncastle Arena on March 17, 2019.  For these shows, in particular, they’re making this show doubly loud as they’re bringing in thrash metal kings Anthrax along for the ride.

Slayer rocked and ruled for over four decades as they thrashed the rock scene game-changing brand of punk, death metal.  MTV has positioned them in rank six as one of the  "greatest metal band of all time". Slayer guitarists Hanneman and King ranked number 10 in Guitar World's "100 greatest metal guitarists of all time" in 2004.  Their 40-year reign spawned 12 studio albums, with a whopping sales of five million albums sold in the United States alone. They have scooped up Grammy Award nominations, with two wins - one for ‘best song’ in 2007 with ‘Eyes of the Insane’ and for ‘Final Six’ in 2008.

Bowing out and making their swan song while at the top of their game is indeed the opportune time for New Zealanders to bid farewell and salute their insanely amazing rock heroes.
