American Metallers Mastodon are returning to New Zealand

Veteran metal artist Mastodon are bring their heavy riffs to New Zealand shores. Supporting them will be French act Gojira, an acclaimed tour artist supporting Metallica and other heavy hitters on several occasions. Having recently picked up a Grammy Award, Mastodon are in the peak of their career and not to be missed.

What better time to show yourself than at the upcoming Mastodon gig later this month. Live in New Zealand for a one-off show; this is one of the highest anticipated metal gigs of 2018. Having just picked up 'Best Metal Performance' at the latest Grammy Awards, the band is arguably in their prime making them even more of a must-see. Their latest album 'Emperor of Sand', is said to be their greatest yet, delivering a tighter, more refined sound. The live gig follows on from their appearance across the ditch at Download Festival in Melbourne. Whilst there is some controversy around the change in sound over their 7 album streak, long-time fans are more than stoked to attend this rare opportunity.

Gojira

First time in New Zealand ever, renowned heavy metal band Gojira are amped to come rock out with kiwi mettlers. Equally epic in glory (to Mastodon), Gojira have also found recognition in the limelight hailing two Grammy Award nominations back in 2016. Their melodic sound is super charged with emotion, delivering both groove and a blasting energy. Live performances are known for their 'in your face' atmosphere and the yells from hundreds of loyal followers. Get your neck brace ready, this one will be a head banger for sure.
