Deftones – 2026 Australia / New Zealand – Tickets & Details – Auckland

Deftones 2026 Australia / New Zealand Details, Tickets & More

Fans of the celebrated Sacramento rockers have been waiting almost a decade for their return to Aotearoa. Now, at last, it is a reality: Deftones will be putting on a run of must-not-miss headline arena shows in Australia and New Zealand next spring.

Very few acts in alternative metal enjoy as passionate a following as Deftones. Sure enough, the multi-Platinum Grammy Award winners are set to reward their patient local audiences with their trademark blend of raw power and cinematic intensity when they take to the Spark Arena stage.

Wednesday 13th May is the date that Auckland fans should be clearing in their diaries, when Deftones will perform their sixth and final show of their 2026 arena tour Down Under.

The band’s present lineup comprises lead guitarist Stephen Carpenter, drummer Abe Cunningham, lead vocalist Chino Moreno, and keyboardist and turntablist Frank Delgado.

Formed in California in 1988 when Carpenter, Cunningham, and Moreno were in high school, Deftones went on to assume a key role in the ‘90s nu-metal movement. However, while the group helped shape the genre, they also transcended it with the more atmospheric and experimental elements of their distinctive sound.

Now boasting a discography of seminal releases, and having sold more than 10 million records globally, Deftones could be forgiven for resting on their laurels. Instead, they recently achieved yet another artistic peak with the issuing of their 10th full-length LP, Private Music, in August.

The “flawless” new album prompted AllMusic’s Neil Z. Yeung to declare that “Deftones maintain their position as one of the greatest bands of their generation.”

Special Guests: Interpol and Ecca Vandal

Joining Deftones for the ride through Australia and New Zealand will be post-punk revivalists Interpol and the Melbourne-based singer-songwriter and rapper, Ecca Vandal.

Originating in New York, Interpol produced an instant classic with their 2002 debut album Turn on the Bright Lights, and have been drawing comparisons to such acts as Joy Division, Television, and the Chameleons ever since.
