Bring Me The Horizon – Auckland New Zealand 2016

Bring Me The Horizon NZ 2015

The countdown is on, Bring Me The Horizon will be returning to NZ to play at the Logan Campbell Centre on the 21st January 2016. Having released their latest album ‘That’s the Sprit’ in September BMTH is sure to attract a larger and newer crowd since their last NZ gig in 2013. The new album is expected to top the charts Globally, hitting position 1 on iTunes in September and debuted at No. 2 on The Billboard 200.

Bring Me The Horizon aren’t new to New Zealand originally playing their first gig back in May 2009 with the Album launch of Suicide Season. They went on to play two sellout shows in 2013, and this gig is going to be no different so make sure you secure your ticket while you can.

That’s the Spirit is the fifth album from the group, a huge progression from their deathcore roots back in 2004. The Yorkshire band has progressed their sound into the realms of metalcore before slowly moving into a more melodious nature.

If you have been following the band for a while, you’ll remember back in 2014 they shocked the fan base with the single ‘Drown’. It was then where we came to the drastic realization that after 10 years at their art, the bands sound has morphed from organic metalcore to mainstream. Oli Sykes has set himself to explore an unfamiliar range of melodies and cleanskin vocals. Some of this is down to vocal damage but there’s no doubt that their sound has become commercial.

Although, you’ve got to give it to them with the two absolute masterpieces Drown and Happy Song, these are hands down two tracks I’d rather hear on the radio than any of that Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber nonsense.
